Bear Valley Highlands - Wilderness Retreat - Lumby BC
Log Chalets - Private Lake
Welcome to our ranch in the Okanagan Valley – a true wilderness experience only half an hour drive from Vernon, BC.
Explore and enjoy unspoiled nature and tranquility on over 600 acres and surrounding crown land from your comfortable log cabin.
You will stay in one of our 2 handcrafted log cabins that each sleep up to 6 people and offer beautiful views of the Monashee Mountains and our private lake. Both cabins as well as all other buildings on Bear Valley Highlands are powered by solar power systems to preserve this beautiful nature.
Your cabin provides lots of privacy and the chance to get away from it all, relax viewing the wildlife right from your porch or take a stroll down to the lake for a swim, paddle or do some fishing, not to forget the amazing sunsets over the valley in the evening.
Each cabin consists of an open living/dining area with a fully equipped kitchen, one full bathroom and a separate bedroom. A large sleeping loft overlooks the living room.
Yurt
Our unique Mongolian yurt overlooks the Valley towards the Monashee Mountains and offers lots of privacy as well as a spectacular view. Only a short distance from the lake it is an easy walk to enjoy swimming, boating and fishing. With 32' diameter, log rafters and a 6' glass dome in the 14' high centre it is truly an experience to live close to nature but with all amenities.
Tipi Lodge
Spend a night in our tipi lodge only a few steps away from the lake.
"The Timber Wolf" is an authentic Sioux style tipi from Nomadic Tipi makers, the people who made the tipis for the movie "Dances With Wolves" and comes with a sitting area and picnic table. There is also a simple outdoor kitchen with running water and a BBQ as well as an outhouse.
During the low risk fire season we will provide you with a propane fire pit. This is an outdoor camping experience with a difference.
Sit back on your covered porch to enjoy the sunset and views. The cabins are within walking distance to the lake where you can fish for rainbow trouts.Or start your trailride or hike right from your porch!
We can board your horse during your stay in a large paddock close to the cabins.
Enjoy your quiet getaway in a comfortable atmosphere surrounded by unspoiled nature.
